BioFrom the time he hatched into a Punimon, Gabumon had been waiting with his friends for someone to come, a special individual person to come. He waited so long that over time he had evolved from Punimon to Tsunomon, and not long afterward… his special person arrived. Ishida Yamato was greeted by a shy yet excited Tsunomon, and after an awkward meeting, he was carried back to the others by his new friend. Their friendship started out rocky at best, but grew as time passed. But no matter what, through everything they've been through, Gabumon stuck to Yamato’s side and forever will.
Gabumon is a very polite Digimon, and has a gentle personality. He embarrasses easily, and is very quiet compared to the rest of his friends. With Yamato alone, he’s more compassionate and talkative, even when Yamato’s working on songs. Gabumon enjoys trying to get his attention, but also knows when to be quiet. Gabumon can read Yamato like a book even without talking, and because of that, he’s always having an upper hand when it comes to the actions and life of Yamato. Gabumon seems to be closer to Agumon out of the Digimon, most likely because of how they're evolutionary partners, or because their Chosens are best friends as well.
In the human’s world, Gabumon is much more inquisitive and shy. He’s always interested in learning, but also knows when to keep to himself. Gabumon is protective over Yamato, mostly because the boy does get himself into major trouble, not to mention his crazy fangirls. With Yamato’s help, over the years Gabumon’s grown with Yamato in the human world and has learned a lot about things, although some things still seem weird to him.
